Yesterday there was the big summer party at Henri's daycare. The kids had rehearsed a great muscial based on the Katzentanzlied (cat dance song) from the ever so popular "Anne Kaffeekanne" album by Fredrik Vahle.
Henri was all focused backstage. Well as he should - he had landed the romantic lead. The storyline is about a kittycat who doesn't want to dance with any of the animals until finally the tomcat shows up.
The tomcat knows how to treat a kittycat right - he licks and kisses her.
And in the happy end scene kittycat and tomcat dance.
Of course we were bursting with parental pride that Henri had the only role that required some acting (you go and lick a kittycat with a straight face and follow it up with a gracious dance, you'll see).
Even Karl was proud of his little brother.
And nothing says celebration like a lap of honor on the dance-floor with mom.
Henri did thoroughly enjoy his shining moment.
Karl's been a bit nervous ever since. Because today it's his turn - he will play the owl in a staging of the Gruffalo. To be continued....
