Yup, it's that time of the year again. The dread of all all good citizens of Munich - Oktoberfest! A celebration of noise, squander and debauchery. Oh what fun that can be. Especially if you just won very loud whistles at the booth where you pop balloons with darts.
We met Julie and Charlotte and a few other friends. First stop - the Big Bamboo.
Some fun house with a tropical storm theme where the floor shakes and there's wind machines.
In the end you have to run over a small bridge...
...and try to duck the water cannons trying to soak you....
...never mind your dignity.
Then there were of course bumper cars...
...carousels...
...amazement and wonder.
Way up on the ferris wheel you kinda get a gist of what it means when 3,2 million people descend on a field of beer tents over the course of one week. Tell you - I had the much more beautiful view on that ride. And yes - that is a dirndl. And it looks gorgeous on Fred.

ReplyDeleteI tried to comment(like 10 times!!) on this a couple of weeks ago then gave up. I seem to be on a roll today! but what i was gonna comment was.. YOU LOOK REALLY REALLY GOOD in that costume! u should wear it everyday fredster!!
