Karl and I went to archery training on Saturday.
Since it was traditional archery there was no fancy schmantzy gear - just a competition grade bow and a bunch of mean looking arrows in a quiver.
Traditional archery is of course much more fun than the high tech olympic version, because competitions are based on hunting style bush courses where you shoot lifesize rubber foam animals.
Karl got really good fast, shooting down bears, lynxes, wild boar, dinosaurs and dragons (yes, they do know what kids like over there).
All that of course rekindles various childhood instincts in adults as well.
And yes, it's good to hear a "cool, dad", when you killed the bear with one shot.
All in all it ain't no child play though. Karl's bow was taller than himself.
And with a draw weight of 15 lbs on Karl's bow those arrows do get some serious speed.
When his arrow punched all the way through the straw target he sure was proud (killed wild boar in the lower part of the image).
