Karl has a new buddy in the neighborhood - Nils. So when we passed by his house on the way to the park and Nils and his dad Ross were out in their driveway, they just joined us on our way to that small canyon that's full of adventure, especially, if you're an almost five year old bursting with energy that you can use to run up and down the steep slopes.
Building materials were found and ice cream parlor built (good timing, the one next door will close for the winter tomorrow). Karl also showed some hero potential and rescued a stuffed dog from the bottom of the canyon.
Henri was declared the caretaker.
To instill some values in the two little rowdies, Fred printed up some "dog found" posters and a posse was formed to hang the posters up.
Spirits were high amongst the posse (Nils joined again).
Posters were posted.
So now we're just waiting for the real owners of the little dog to come forward. Since Henri went from caretaking to being really smitten rather fast there will be some educational heartbreak. Or - not.
P.S.: Did you know that if you live in a big house, it is absolutely mandatory to search for the most crammable space on Sunday mornings? And spent a good hour there with your brother? And - yes, those are still moving boxes, which got unpacked over the weekend. More to come (more boxes as well).
Did the owner of the little dog come forward yet?
ReplyDeleteNo. And Henri is already speculating on future ownership.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed. Love the rescue mission, and the poster campaign. Either way it ends, a great experience!
