Of course there was a Christmas trip to Omi's and Opa's where the whole Bothe posse assembled for the annual Christmas blowout. And a happy one it was.
All of the cousins got to show off some skills. Karl did a good job reciting a poem, but his shining moment definitely came, when he continued the story reading after the parental units had signed off.
Upon return the traditional New Years' guests arrived. Seen here with Henri - Evi and Paule. There was some pristine winter wonderland conditions for a change. Funny enough - when you're four years old, snowfall two years ago is a very long time ago.
Karl sure loves it.
Of course there was plenty more Karaoke with Maria proving a masterful duet partner for Fred.
New Year's eve the kids got to party til midnight.
And a party it was!
Fireworks was a bit scary, but sparklers were fun.
They do make children's eyes shine.
Did we mention....

After all the partying was done, 2015 started out not just like, but with a walk in the park that included some molten drinks,
...some hot snacks....
...and art!
The big Baselitz show was a hit. And yes, this one asks for some musings about changing perspectives and keeping an open mind. Karl and Henri sure do.
