Weekends in Bavaria - time to hang out with dad and do some art bohemian style at the cafe while waiting for drinks and snacks...
... and finish just in time to meet up with Jasper at the theater (they had a show of "The Little Witch" at the puppet theater, one of an all-time fave around here).
Great new media experience addition - skyping with the family. Since they're distributed all over the continent there was some joking around with the UK, some jokes with Switzerland, some news sharing with that place of Germany that's closer to France and some with that place that's closer to Italy. See? All that in an early Sunday afternoon.
And then there was more skiing. Big excitment, since it was the first time without the supervision of a trained ski professional (seasoned his the dad, clocking in a few decades of Alpine speeding, but still....). After a few impressive runs I taught Karl the so-called "Einkehrschwung", which is the sharp turn you take into one of the rustic restaurants up in the peeks (this one being the "Florihütte" seen just over Karl's left shoulder). Important feature of any skiing day - Almdudler, an Austrian herbal soda pop.
And yes, Karl mastered steep sloped like this. I'm still pretty impressed, given that his very first ski lesson is just about a year ago.
And yes, there was another Einkehrschwung, a hot pan full of Kaiserschmarrn and another bottle of Almdudler. Of course.
