The Long Weekend of Pentecost

It was the long weekend of Pentecost and luckily the children's news show explained all that holy ghost stuff quite nicely on Friday, so we actually knew, why we had an extra day off. Which we could put to quite good use, since Henri's new stunt scooter has to be broken in. We also went to the public swimming pool twice, not pictured, since my phone cam is not waterproof. So you have to take my word on the great aquatic progress we're making there.

Karl's got a kid's cookbook from his aunt Jessica, so for lunch we were treated to pasta (please do note Henri in his new role as sous-chef).

Sunday we went out to the lake to hang out with grandpa Paul. Who took us to the next great stunt adventure.

The super speedy cable car!

Plus as extra bonus the local soccer team's multi sports field.

Grandpa and the boys even rescued a porcupine from the road who was fed some milk and put into a safe place in a meadow.

Monday it was another trip to the pool and another treat from Karl's cook book - strawberry frappe.

Well, few things beat a strawberry frappe on a sunny summer afternoon.

Next up some gardening, which Fred - freshly strengthened with all that strawberry frappe power - took to a whole other level. That tree stump's halfway out. For everybody who was there two summers ago - this is the new Anderson shelter project. And it's progressing quite nicely.

By the way - all that innocent seeming childhood fun stuff is all a front. When we say our boys are superheroes we mean that quite literally. And off they go to save the world!
