Berlin

What a fantastic trip to our nation's capital (with a Halloween arrival!).

We got to stay at our friend Gaby's house (who's currently shooting movies on the West Coast of the US of A).

Which is not only very fabulous and sun drenched, but also located in ultra contemporary Mitte, where Karl adapted fast to his new surroundings (I swear, we didn't put him up to any of the fashion items he wore that night).

We actually came to see our niece/cousin Thora play a concert with an orchestra made up of players from her school in England and from a school in Berlin (which unfortunately was not documented by us, but there's plenty of pics grandma took). We stayed for a whole four days, which left us to do lots of touristy things, like having lunch at the restaurant located in the dome of the parliament.

And of course climbing around that dome, pretending we're ninja's here to save the world (well, aren't we?).

We went to the great museum of natural history, which is indeed a match for the New York one.

Everybody's favorite was Madame Tussaud's though.

Where you can test drive pole positions in society.

Or in history.

The civil rights movement.

Literature.

And yes, you can save the world.

Conquer it with songs...

...or mean left hooks.

You might find yourself in the middle of a battle...

...or amongst more friendly creatures.

Every outing of course topped with a visit to one of the countless fabulous restaurants of Berlin.

That's the gang (minus Carolin and Thora, who were on their way to cross the channel already).

And oh yeah, guess which museum the boys liked best (exclusively dedicated to an important albeit not that long part of cultural history).

Did I mention the arty cafes?

Anyway - family consensus is, we wanna be back soon! That place rocks.
