Boys, toys and plenty of apples

The boys got new electronic toys. Henri bought himself a funny rubber monster at the stationery store that lights up, when you bounce it up and down. And Karl, yup, Karl got a handheld Nintendo. After we had told him that we won't tolerate game consoles in the house and even if he saved up so much money that he could afford one.... well, he always send in those quizzes and puzzles from his comic books and magazines. We always tell him the chances of winning are nil and he always accepted it. But then the other day a big package from a comic book company arrived. Fred texted me at work, if I ordered some comics for his birthday, but since I didn't, we figured he won a stack. Little did we know that the box contained a Ninentdo 3DS and four games! That's some 300 Euros worth of merchandise! And no, we didn't have the heart to take it away from the happiest boy on earth. So now it's a set of rules worthy of the UN that boils down to about 15 minutes of game time each day. So far....

...it didn't keep him from apple picking.

Great, reddish glowing apples galore. We will survive the winter on apples again. We were already toying with the idea of investing in a mini-distillery and open a little shop for apple moonshine. Well, don't want the neighborhood to go blind on us, I guess.
