Driving Up To Omi's and Opa's

In the meantime Karl and I took a drive up to Omi's and Opa's place in Bensheim. On the way Karl talked me into buying him some fine onboard entertainment courtesy of Walt Disney. He doesn't get much of the Donald Duck stories, but he just enjoys looking at the images or having the stories read to him.

Up at Oma's he felt right at home, bolting up to the room Omi has filled with loads of vintage toys form Fred's, Markus' and Carolin's childhood. Which means really fancy 70s stuff. Plus a great tin drum, which was his first choice.

He was too excited to go to sleep that first night, so he got to stay with daddy in the room. The next morning he was up bright and early. Because there are so many things to do. Like running a mobile clinic for dolls. When I called from Edinburgh, he was chattering away about a trip to town where he got to go on some joyrides and about the toy train that was excavated from the attic. No worries about this young man getting bored anytime soon. So it might be just me missing the gang immensely, Ted conference information overload or not.
